Nancy Ewing Friedman (Miss Maudie) just completed a star turn as Momma Rose in GLCT’s production of Gypsy.  Past GLCT credits include Cabaret, Guys and Dolls, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Last Night of Ballyhoo, Dancing at Lugnasa, The Female Odd Couple, Damn Yankees, and The Sisters Rosensweig. Twelve years ago she was in the original GLCT cast of To Kill a Mockingbird.  Nancy studied theatre at the University of Oklahoma and would like to send her love to those stars of her life, Harry and Spencer.

Courtney White (Scout) makes her debut at GLCT with this production.  Courtney is very “Scout-like” – she loves sports, asks lots of tough questions and has even had a fist fight with a boy!  A home-schooled 8th grader, she has appeared in Puss in Boots, Breman Town Musicians, Emperor And Nightingale, Pinocchio, Wind in the Willows, Sleepy Hollow and Hobbit.  She thanks God for all her blessings and is thrilled to be part of this cast.

Mike Serverian (Walter Cunningham Jr.) is ecstatic to be on GLCT’s stage again. He previously performed in George M. Cohan (Percy) and Nuncrackers (Jon) at GLCT. He has also run sound and lights, and managed properties in his theater life. He lives at Flower Mound HS, where he is a freshman, and GLCT this fall!  Thanks, Mom and Dad, for love and support.

Sherida Jones (Calpurnia) is new to community theatre and is excited about starting out at GLCT.  She is a native of Oklahoma where she attended OSU.  In her youth, she played Annie Sullivan in The Miracle Worker and Juliet in Romeo and Juliet.  She lives in Lewisville and is a mortgage banker by day.

Julie Aylor (Miss Stephanie) – You might remember her as Mrs. Jessup from last season’s production of The Uninvited. Her award-winning roles include Gorgeous in Sisters Rosenweig, Maud in Forty Carats and Maggie in Tribute.  Favorite roles include Sara Lee in Daddy’s Dyin’, Clelia in The Nerd, Clairee in Steel Magnolias and Boo in Last Night of Ballyhoo. Bill Blackford (Judge Taylor, Walter Cunningham, Sr.) This is Bill’s seventh production at GLCT having appeared in Proof, My Three Angels, Sabrina Fair, Guys and Dolls, George M. Cohan and Enchanted April.  Bill would like to express his appreciation to his wife, Karen, for her love, encouragement and support.

Charles Beachley (Heck Tate) has done Return With Us Now, The Foreigner, Grand Night for Singing, You Can’t Take It With You, Much Ado, My Three Angels, Smoke on the Mountain, Cohan, Love Is On The Air and Gypsy at GLCT.  He’s married to his high school sweetheart, Cindy.  Thank you, Princess, for everything.

Betty Detamore (Mrs. DuBose) - Betty has performed and directed in theatres around the country, including off Broadway.  Some of her favorite (and award-winning) roles include Ouiser in Steel Magnolias, Miss Maudie in To Kill a Mockingbird, and Ethel in Moon over Buffalo.  She makes her living performing in films, TV commercials, etc.  Betty is enjoying being part of the GLCT family.

Phillip Sinclair (Jem) is another new face at GLCT.  A native Texan, he attends Shadow Ridge Middle School in Flower Mound.  He is active in the National Junior Honor Society and plays football, soccer and ultimate Frisbee.  He appeared in Scrooge last Christmas and hopes to be in school productions this year.  He enjoys spending time with his family and friends and sings in his church choir.

Robert Paul (Reverend Sykes) is making his return visit to GLCT in this production.  Having been in theatre since childhood, he has had many roles and is currently the minister of discipleship and worship drama at The Servant House in Lewisville.  He has an upcoming appearance in “Prison Break” on Fox TV.  He is fully committed to God, his wife Karessa, and his children Dawn, Krista and Justin.

Shannon Johnston (Mayella Ewell) is thrilled to be back at GLCT where she last appeared as the title character in Sylvia. Other favorite productions include The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, Twelfth Night, Our Town and Man of La Mancha.  In her spare time, Shannon is a middle school Theatre Arts teacher in Flower Mound, and is taking over the world brainwashing one kid at a time.  She is tickled pink to be sharing the stage with two of her wonderful students in this production.

Greg English (Bob Ewell) caught the theater bug at 15 when his sister talked him into auditioning for West Side Story.  Favorite roles performed include Max Halliday in Dial M for Murder, Mike Talman in Wait Until Dark, Benny Southstreet in Guys and Dolls and Dr. Sanderson in Harvey.

Spencer Ewing Friedman (Dill) - His first show at GLCT was Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.  Then he was in his father’s production of Taming of the Shrew at Grapevine’s Runway theatre.  Back at GLCT, Spencer was in Guys and Dolls and, most recently, Gypsy with his mom and dad.  He is excited to be in this production that his dad is directing.  He has also done several school productions, enjoys fencing and his two beagles.  He sends his love and thanks to his mom and dad for first getting him on this stage.

Dale Downie (Atticus Finch) is reprising his role as Atticus. He was in GLCT's 1995 production of To Kill A Mockingbird and also played Dr. Anagnos in The Miracle Worker. Dale has been in community theater for over 20 years, ever since a high school English teacher threatened him with bodily harm if he did not get into drama. He has had numerous roles at Angelo Civic Theater in San Angelo. Dale would like to thank his wife, Kathy, and his sons, Justin, Trevor, and Garret, for pushing him out the door to go to auditions for To Kill A Mockingbird. He would also like to give a special thanks to Harry Friedman for "letting me climb into Atticus' skin and walk around in it again". Break a leg, everyone!
