Auditions for Greater Lewisville Community Theatre’s production of The Revolutionists by Lauren Gunderson, and directed by Robin Armstrong, will be held at GLCT Saturday March 11, 10 am – 2 pm and Sunday, March 12, 7 pm  - 10 pm. Callbacks, if needed, will be Monday March 13 at 7 pm.

The Revolutionists is described as “a Comedy, a Quartet, a Revolutionary Dream Fugue, and a True Story” set in 1793 Paris during the Reign of Terror. However, it is mostly a Comedy!

ROLES (all of these are real women of history):

OLYMPE de GOUGES—38. Badass activist playwright and feminist. Theatre nerd, excitable, passionate, a showman. Widowed and never remarried to ensure her personal freedom.

CHARLOTTE CORDAY— 25. Badass country girl and assassin. Very serious, hardened by righteousness, never been kissed. Has a pocket watch she keeps checking. Also plays FRATERNITÉ in a mask.

MARIE-ANTOINETTE—38. Less badass but fascinating former queen of France. Bubbly, graceful, opinionated, totally unaware, unintentionally rude, and oddly prescient. Never had a real friend. Also plays FRATERNITÉ in a mask.

MARIANNE ANGELLE— 30s. A badass black woman in Paris. She is from the Caribbean, a free woman, a spy working with her husband, Vincent. Tough, classy, vigilant, the sanest one of them all.

Women of all ethnicities are encouraged to audition.

Performance dates are at GLCT April 21-May 7, 2023, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 pm and Sundays at 3 pm.

Auditions will be Open Call at GLCT, 160 W. Main Street in Old Town Lewisville. The entrance is off Elm St, in the rear of the building. (See MAP) Audition questions may be directed in advance to harry@the friedmanhouse.com.
