Dear GLCT Patrons and Friends,
The GLCT Board of Directors is canceling its summer musical, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, which was scheduled to run June 12-July 5. We were so looking forward to a terrifically entertaining musical under the direction of Robin Armstrong, who brought us Beauty and the Beast a couple of seasons ago.
There is much uncertainty about the future, but GLCT is planning a series of shows we are calling Five to Thrive. We have put dates around these shows because we have them licensed for those specific time periods. If any one show can't be performed because of COVID-19 restrictions, that show will stay in the mix but move to the end of the line. That way, when you purchase a 5-show package to support GLCT, you will eventually see these five shows when it is safe to do so. Current subscribers, watch for a renewal letter in the next few weeks. The Five to Thrive lineup will appear on this website by mid-June as well, so keep checking back. We'll all be more than ready to get started again, spending time together and enjoying our wonderful community theater.
If you have purchased a ticket to Spelling Bee, the box office will contact you. Single ticket holders will be offered a full refund, or a discount on season tickets for next year. Of course, if you wish to donate the cost of your ticket to GLCT to help defray expenses, we would be most grateful.
If you are a season ticket holder, we are unable to refund your ticket but will offer a discount on next year’s season pass.
Thank you for your understanding as we navigate a difficult time in so many ways. Please be ready to support the arts as we endeavor to recover from this setback and continue to provide a vibrant artistic environment for our community.
